Custom Software Development

NXBIRD builds custom software for businesses whose work doesn't fit off-the-shelf tools. We study your process, then build web-based applications, portals and internal tools that match how your team actually works.

What is custom software development?

Custom software development is designing and building software for one organisation's specific processes, instead of adapting the business to a ready-made product. It is usually delivered as a web application with user roles, reports and integrations.

What we build

  • Internal business tools
  • Customer and vendor portals
  • Workflow and approval systems
  • Booking and scheduling systems
  • Reporting dashboards
  • MVPs for new products

Who this is for

Spreadsheets and generic tools stop working as a business grows. We turn your processes into reliable software with the right access controls, so information is in one place and work moves faster.

Startups
A first version of your product (MVP) built to test with real users and grow later.
Small businesses
Tools that replace spreadsheets for orders, bookings, staff or customer records.
Enterprises
Internal systems, partner portals and workflow tools with roles, approvals and audit trails.

What's included

  • Requirement discovery and written scope
  • User flows and screen designs
  • Web application with secure login
  • Role-based access and approvals
  • Reports and dashboards
  • Data import from existing spreadsheets or systems
  • User guide and handover

People also ask about custom software development

How much does custom software cost?

Cost depends on scope. Share your requirements and we'll send a written quote. The price depends on the features, integrations, design work and content involved. We explain each part of the quote in plain language before any work begins, so you know exactly what you are paying for.

How long does custom software take?

Timelines depend on scope. Share your requirements for a written quote, which includes an estimated schedule with clear milestones. The schedule also depends on how quickly content, access and feedback are available. Larger projects are delivered in stages, so you can review progress before the next stage begins.

What is your process?

We follow four stages: Discover, Design, Build, and Launch & Support. First we understand your goals and agree on scope and cost in writing. Then we plan and design, build in stages with regular updates, test the work and launch it with you. NXBIRD's directors are involved from the first call to launch.

Do you provide support and maintenance after launch?

Yes. After delivery there is a 7-day testing and acceptance period, and bugs or errors you report during it are fixed free of charge. After acceptance, new features or changes are quoted separately, and ongoing support and maintenance are available through an optional annual maintenance contract (AMC).

Who owns the code and designs?

It depends on the plan in your quote. On a managed plan, hosted on NXBIRD's servers, you get your content and admin panel while we manage the server and code. On a full handover plan, source code, design and logins are handed over after final payment. Your content, logo and data always remain yours.

How do you keep the project secure?

Security is planned from the start. We use HTTPS, validate inputs on the server, keep secret keys out of the code, give each user only the access they need and keep software dependencies updated. Personal data is collected only where it is needed and handled with care.

What technology do you use for custom software?

We build custom software as web applications using Next.js, React and TypeScript, with Node.js on the server and MySQL with Prisma for data. This stack is widely used, well documented and secure when built carefully, so your software is easier to maintain and extend in the future.

Can the software grow with my business?

Yes. We plan the software in modules, so we can start with what you need most and add features later. The database and code are structured with growth in mind, and we document the system so new modules, users or integrations can be added without rebuilding everything.
