E-commerce Development
NXBIRD builds online stores for businesses that want to sell products directly to customers. We set up the catalogue, payments, orders and admin tools, and design the store so browsing and checkout stay simple on mobile.
What is e-commerce development?
E-commerce development is building an online store where customers can browse products, pay and track orders, together with the admin tools a business needs to manage products, stock, orders, invoices and shipping.
What we build
- D2C online stores
- B2B ordering portals
- Product catalogue websites
- Subscription commerce
- Multi-vendor marketplaces
- Store redesigns and migrations
Who this is for
Selling online needs more than a product page. We build the full flow — catalogue, cart, payment, order tracking and reports — so customers can buy easily and your team can manage orders without extra work.
- Startups
- D2C brands launching their first online store with room to add features later.
- Small businesses
- Shops and distributors that want to sell online alongside their physical store or marketplace listings.
- Enterprises
- Brands that need custom catalogues, B2B pricing, multiple warehouses or ERP integration.
What's included
- Store design for home, category, product and checkout pages
- Product catalogue with variants and stock
- Cart, checkout and payment gateway integration
- Order, shipping and invoice workflows
- Customer accounts and order history
- Admin dashboard with sales reports
- Technical SEO for product and category pages

- Card and UPI details are handled by the payment gateway, not stored on your site.
Your own online store vs selling only on marketplaces
| Aspect | Your own online store | Marketplaces only |
|---|---|---|
| Brand and design | Fully under your control | Follows the marketplace's layout |
| Customer relationship | You own customer contacts and order history | The marketplace controls most customer data |
| Fees | Payment gateway and hosting costs | Marketplace commissions and fees |
| Traffic | You build your own visibility (SEO, ads, social) | Access to the marketplace's existing shoppers |

People also ask about e-commerce development
How much does an e-commerce store cost?
Cost depends on scope. Share your requirements and we'll send a written quote. The price depends on the features, integrations, design work and content involved. We explain each part of the quote in plain language before any work begins, so you know exactly what you are paying for.
How long does an e-commerce store take?
Timelines depend on scope. Share your requirements for a written quote, which includes an estimated schedule with clear milestones. The schedule also depends on how quickly content, access and feedback are available. Larger projects are delivered in stages, so you can review progress before the next stage begins.
What is your process?
We follow four stages: Discover, Design, Build, and Launch & Support. First we understand your goals and agree on scope and cost in writing. Then we plan and design, build in stages with regular updates, test the work and launch it with you. NXBIRD's directors are involved from the first call to launch.
Do you provide support and maintenance after launch?
Yes. After delivery there is a 7-day testing and acceptance period, and bugs or errors you report during it are fixed free of charge. After acceptance, new features or changes are quoted separately, and ongoing support and maintenance are available through an optional annual maintenance contract (AMC).
Who owns the code and designs?
It depends on the plan in your quote. On a managed plan, hosted on NXBIRD's servers, you get your content and admin panel while we manage the server and code. On a full handover plan, source code, design and logins are handed over after final payment. Your content, logo and data always remain yours.
How do you keep the project secure?
Security is planned from the start. We use HTTPS, validate inputs on the server, keep secret keys out of the code, give each user only the access they need and keep software dependencies updated. Personal data is collected only where it is needed and handled with care.
What technology do you use for e-commerce?
We build stores with Next.js and TypeScript on the front end and a MySQL database for products and orders, connected to Indian payment gateways through their official APIs. Where a ready platform suits you better, we will say so and explain the trade-offs before you decide.
Can customers pay with UPI, cards and net banking?
Yes, through the payment gateway you choose. Most Indian payment gateways support UPI, debit and credit cards, net banking and wallets. We integrate the gateway using its official APIs, so payment details are handled by the gateway and are not stored on your website.
