Which level should I pick?
- Easy: short, common words in lower case. Good for warming up.
- Medium: normal sentences with capital letters and commas.
- Hard: numbers, brackets, quotes and other punctuation.
Tips to type faster
- Keep your fingers on the home row (A S D F and J K L ;) and return there after each key.
- Look at the screen, not the keyboard. It feels slow at first, then much faster.
- Slow down a little if you make many mistakes. Accuracy builds real speed.
- Practise for 10 minutes a day rather than one long session a week.
Why typing speed matters
Faster, accurate typing saves time on emails, reports and messages. Students finish assignments sooner, and small business owners reply to customers faster. Try the test once a week to see your progress.

Questions about the typing speed test
How is typing speed (WPM) calculated?
Every 5 correct characters count as one word. We divide the correct words by the minutes you typed. Mistakes do not count, so accuracy matters as much as speed.
What is a good typing speed?
Many people type around 30 to 40 words per minute. Practise a little every day and focus on accuracy first. Speed usually follows.
