Reaction Time Test
Tap the moment the panel turns orange. Five rounds, measured in milliseconds.
Reaction Time Test
When the panel turns orange, tap it (or press Space) as fast as you can. Five rounds; your score is the average time. With a friend, each takes half the screen: first tap wins the round.

How to play
Press Start. The panel is blue while you wait. At a random moment it turns orange: tap it, or press Space, as fast as you can. Your time appears in milliseconds (thousandths of a second). After five rounds you see your average.
What the numbers mean
- Under 220 ms: lightning fast.
- 220–300 ms: quick.
- 300–400 ms: about average.
- Over 400 ms: keep practising, or try when you feel fresh.
Tips for a faster time
- Rest your finger just above the screen or the Space key.
- Look at the middle of the panel, not at the edges.
- Stay relaxed. Tense muscles react more slowly.
- Sleep, focus and fewer distractions all help more than you might think.
Fun fact
Your eyes see the colour change, your brain decides to act, and a signal travels to your finger. All of that usually happens in about a quarter of a second.

Questions about the reaction time test
What is a good reaction time?
Many people score between 200 and 300 milliseconds on a test like this. Your device, screen and internet do not matter much, but a slow or busy phone can add a little time.
Why does tapping early not count?
Guessing is not reacting. If you tap before the colour changes, that round restarts so your average stays fair.
Can I use the keyboard?
Yes. Press Space or Enter instead of tapping. Many people are a little faster with a key than with a mouse.
